Months prior, Ye had publicly apologized for his antisemitic behavior in a Wall Street Journal ad. This came after incidents in 2022, including social media posts and public appearances that led to lucrative business deals being terminated, notably by Adidas. He attributed his past conduct partly to untreated bipolar I disorder.

The concert showcased songs from his new album "Bully," with lyrics that some interpreted as reflecting a "new me." It also included fan-favorite nostalgic hits. Despite past actions, some fans expressed a desire to separate his music from his personal conduct, hoping for his return to live events.

The Anti-Defamation League has stated that apologies do not erase his history, urging him to use future platforms positively. The concert at the 70,000-seat arena appeared largely full, with merchandise sales indicating strong fan interest.
