Kanye West's Prague Concert Canceled Amid Controversy
13 Jun
Summary
- Prague venue canceled Ye's July 25 concert after contract termination.
- Promoter Hugo Production cited communication issues, leading to cancellation.
- Previous European shows and appearances have faced postponements or cancellations.

Ye's scheduled July 25 performance in Prague has been canceled, marking another setback in his European comeback attempts. Chuchle Arena Prague, the horse-racing venue slated to host the event, has terminated its contract with the promoter, Hugo Production. Arena director Zuzana Rambová indicated that communication issues with the organizer contributed to the decision, stating the promoter was difficult to reach and lacked clear answers.
The Prague concert announcement in April had already generated controversy due to Ye's history of antisemitic remarks and praise for Adolf Hitler. This is not an isolated incident; planned appearances in France, Poland, Italy, and other European countries have recently been postponed or canceled. A planned UK festival slot was also scrapped, partly due to visa issues.
Despite these challenges, Ye has performed in select locations, including two shows in the Netherlands earlier this month and a performance in Istanbul last month. The artist's controversies largely stem from antisemitic comments made in 2022, for which he later apologized, attributing his statements to untreated bipolar disorder and trauma. However, he reposted a clip in April of this year containing an antisemitic stereotype about Jewish control of financial institutions.
