29 May
Summary
- Kanye West's Istanbul concert aims for 120,000 attendees.
- Ancillary revenue from foreign visitors is projected at $50M-$100M.
- The event could set a new world record for the largest single concert.

Kanye West, also known as Ye, is scheduled to headline a major concert on Saturday at Istanbul's Atatürk Olympic Stadium. This event is set to launch his summer tour, following a series of cancellations in the U.K., France, Switzerland, and Poland. These prior cancellations were attributed to the rapper's controversial antisemitic remarks.
The Istanbul performance will feature West on a striking globe-shaped stage. Organizers anticipate a significant turnout, with a target audience of up to 120,000 people and 75,000 tickets already sold. If the attendance reaches 99,000, the concert could establish a new world record for the largest single concert event.
Erdem Karahan, the organizer, stated that ancillary revenue generated from foreign visitors attending the concert is expected to range from $50 million to $100 million. This figure accounts for spending on accommodations, transportation, and food and beverage. Several Turkish artists are slated to open the show, with potential appearances by U.S. rapper Travis Scott and West's daughter, North West.
West previously faced international backlash for his statements and actions. He has since issued a public apology, attributing his behavior to manic episodes related to bipolar disorder. Following the Istanbul concert, West has scheduled additional performances in the Netherlands, Albania, Italy, and Prague later in the year.
