Kanye West has issued a public apology for antisemitic remarks he previously shared. In a full-page advertisement and a subsequent interview, West addressed these controversial statements, also detailing his personal struggles with mental health, specifically bipolar disorder. He revealed a diagnosis of a right frontal lobe injury, which he believes stems from a significant car accident in 2002 that inspired his debut single.

West has faced criticism that his apology is a public relations tactic. However, he denied this, arguing his established career and fanbase render such moves unnecessary. He suggested deeper reasons for his public remorse, noting that he began to express regret after receiving treatment for a four-month manic episode experienced in 2025. This episode reportedly followed his claim of "dominion" over his wife, Bianca Censori.

The rapper's past controversies include antisemitic comments made in 2022 on the "Drink Champs" podcast and social media posts, leading to widespread condemnation and the loss of major business partnerships with brands like Balenciaga and Adidas. In the past, West had also apologized via social media multiple times, including posts in 2023 and a statement in 2025 asserting he was "done with antisemitism."
