Kantara Prequel Soars Towards 200 Crore Club at Hindi Box Office

As of October 24th, 2025, the Kannada mythological action film Kantara Chapter 1 is enjoying a fantastic run at the Hindi box office. The Rishab Shetty-starrer has been steadily climbing towards the prestigious 200 crore club, despite facing stiff competition from other releases like Thamma and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.

On day 22, the film managed to accumulate 4 crores, despite a partial holiday due to Bhai Dooj. This minimal drop of around 15% showcases the film's strong hold on the audience. With its overall box office collection now standing at 193.62 crores, Kantara Chapter 1 is poised to make a cakewalk entry into the 200 crore club in the coming days.

Furthermore, the film's impressive performance has also allowed it to surpass the collections of Housefull 5 (198.41 crores) and emerge as the 5th highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025. This is a remarkable achievement for a Kannada language film, solidifying its status as a pan-India sensation.

Hombale Films, the production house behind Kantara, has already minted impressive returns of 223% on their estimated investment of 60 crores for the Hindi release of the prequel. The success of Kantara Chapter 1 continues to set new benchmarks for the mythological action franchise, and it will be interesting to see if the film can further climb the ranks to surpass the box office numbers of RRR (277 crores) in the coming weeks.
