Kantara Franchise Nears 1200 Crore Milestone, Challenges KGF's Box Office Dominance

On October 24, 2025, the Kantara franchise stands at a remarkable total gross of 1174.83 crore, with the prequel film only 25.17 crore away from hitting the 1200 crore mark. This impressive performance has put the franchise in a strong position to potentially dethrone the KGF franchise as the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time.

The KGF franchise currently holds the title with a total collection of more than 1400+ crores, a feat that the Kantara franchise is still striving to achieve. However, if the prequel film manages to stick around the box office for another couple of weeks, it might just make some new records for the Kannada film industry.

With no other major releases lined up in the upcoming weeks, the mythological epic has a good opportunity to capitalize on the lack of competition and potentially surpass the 1200 crore mark. The journey of the Kantara franchise has been closely watched by the industry, and its continued success could solidify its place as one of the most significant box office achievements in Kannada cinema.
