Summary
- Kantara 2 couldn't surpass Chhaava's 2nd weekend, Monday, or Tuesday collections
- Kantara 2 earned ₹13.50 crore on 2nd Tuesday, while Chhaava earned ₹18.5 crore
- Kantara 2 is now the 2nd highest grossing 2nd Tuesday film of 2025

On October 2nd, Rishab Shetty's Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 was released and has been dominating the box office ever since. The film has already become the 12th biggest hit of Indian cinema and the 2nd biggest hit of 2025. Over its first week, Kantara 2 set new records for the highest Saturday, Sunday, and Monday collections of 2025.
However, as the second weekend approached, Kantara 2 failed to beat the highest grossing 2nd weekend collection of 2025, which was set by Vicky Kaushal and Laxman Utekar's Chhaava. In fact, Kantara 2, while rising the charts of the highest-grossing films of Indian cinema, has failed to go past the benchmarks set by Chhaava for 2025. The film couldn't surpass Chhaava's 2nd weekend collections, nor was it able to beat its 2nd Monday or 2nd Tuesday collections.
On its 2nd Tuesday, Kantara 2 minted ₹13.50 crore, while Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava had clocked in ₹18.5 crore. Both films were not able to take advantage of Tuesday discounts as their respective Monday collections were ₹13.35 crore and ₹18 crore. However, Kantara 2 has become the 2nd highest collection for a 2nd Tuesday, going past Mohit Suri, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's Saiyaara, which had earned ₹10 crore on its 2nd Tuesday.
The total collection of Kantara 2 now stands at ₹465.75 crore and is currently eyeing the ₹500 crore mark by Friday. The makers have announced a third part, but Rishab Shetty will not be returning to the franchise until he completes Jai Hanuman and Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj's biopic.
