Kanpur Metro Launches Book Fairs for Passengers

Kanpur Metro has initiated a series of book fairs at its metro stations, commencing on Tuesday. These fairs are being held at Kanpur Central and Bada Chauraha Metro stations and will extend for a period of one and a half months. An additional book fair is scheduled to commence at Motijheel Metro station starting September 16.

Passengers who possess a NCMC Go-Smart card will be eligible for an exclusive 10% discount on all book purchases made at these fairs. This initiative aims to enrich the travel experience for commuters.

The book fairs boast a diverse collection of reading materials, encompassing subjects such as literature, art, science, and financial management. Special attention has been given to students, with provisions for general knowledge books, motivational literature, and biographies.

Younger audiences will find early-learning and educational books, while teenagers can explore popular series like Harry Potter and manga. Motivational posters and stationery are also available.

Sushil Kumar, managing director of UPMRC, highlighted that the primary goal is to foster a reading culture and transform metro travel into a cultural experience. The fairs are reportedly receiving an enthusiastic response.
