The production spans seven distinct Indian dialects.
Rooted in extensive field research, Folk Ecstasy places authentic folk vocals in dialogue with contemporary, jazz-infused arrangements. This approach preserves the integrity of cultural heritage while adapting its form for modern audiences. The concert notably pays tribute to iconic figures Bhupen Hazarika and Bhikhari Thakur.
The show highlights women's songs, ritual practices, narratives of migration, and collective memory.
