A significant cultural event, the Kalinjar Mahotsava, is set to take place in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, beginning this Sunday. This three-day festival, themed 'Echoes of History, Soul of Culture,' is organized by the UP government to prominently feature the Bundelkhand region's profound historical legacy and cultural richness.
The mahotsava aims to elevate Bundelkhand's warrior traditions, folk arts, and historical significance into the mainstream tourism landscape of Uttar Pradesh. Tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh emphasized that the festival serves as a platform to present Bundelkhand's heritage to a national and global audience.
Attendees can anticipate a diverse array of performances, including traditional Bundeli folk dances, Alha ballads, devotional music, and songs. Evening performances are scheduled daily under the banner 'Aaj Ki Shaam Kalinjar Ke Naam,' featuring artists like Tripti Shakya and Sadho The Band. Additionally, a sports festival and a divisional Saras mela showcasing products from women's self-help groups will run concurrently.
