Cuoco admitted to knowing absolutely nothing about the show's premise or historical setting before arriving on set. She was surprised by the elaborate production, which resembled a major film set. She eventually discovered she would be part of a sketch set during the Great Depression, playing a character named Gloria.

The series, created by David and Jeff Schaffer, incorporates historical American moments into comedy sketches. It is executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground. The show premiered on June 26, 2026, with new episodes airing weekly through its finale on August 7, 2026.
