The highly anticipated Malayalam crime thriller, Kalamkaval, starring Mammootty, has officially rescheduled its release to December 5, 2025. This announcement, accompanied by a new poster, follows earlier speculation and a previous delay, addressing fans' eagerness after Mammootty himself shared the update on Instagram. The film's premiere was initially anticipated for November 27 but was postponed, with the makers assuring a "new release date will be announced soon."
The recently released trailer has garnered significant attention for its intense visuals and gripping narrative. It opens with SJ Ethan warning, "The venom beneath can't be suppressed forever," setting a tone of impending conflict. The trailer frames the story around a violent incident in Kottayikonam, on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, that escalates into communal tension, necessitating an investigation by the Kerala Police's Special Investigation Team.
Directed by Jithin K Jose, Kalamkaval features a cast including Vinayakan and Jibin Gopinath as police officers. This film marks Mammootty's return after a short health break.
