Kacey Musgraves Honors Parton at VMAs

Kacey Musgraves will perform a special tribute to her late friend Dolly Parton at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.

Musgraves has a history of honoring Parton, including a recent concert where she dedicated songs to the iconic singer just days after her passing. This upcoming VMA performance continues a series of tributes.

Their shared history includes performances together, such as at the 2016 CMA Awards and the 2019 Grammys. Musgraves also performed Parton's "Here You Come Again" with Katy Perry on multiple occasions.

The 2026 VMAs ceremony will be hosted by Snoop Dogg and will feature other special presentations, including a tribute to George Michael and an award for Nirvana. The event is scheduled to air on September 27 on CBS and MTV, with streaming available on Paramount+.
