K-Pop Star Shuhua Yeh Debuts as Actress in Toronto Film Fest

Shuhua Yeh, known globally as a member of the K-pop group I-dle, is set to achieve a long-held dream with her acting debut in "Happily Ever After." The film is world-premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Yeh, who grew up in Taiwan and majored in drama in high school, initially aimed for an acting career. However, her path led her to South Korea, where she trained and debuted as a K-pop idol in 2018.

Despite her success in music, Yeh found the transition back to acting surprisingly natural. She attributes this to the narrative-driven concepts in K-pop music videos, which allowed her to hone her acting skills. In "Happily Ever After," Yeh portrays Kitty, the younger of two sisters whose dormant tensions surface when a stray cat enters their lives.
