Summary
- K-Pop's Rosé and animated group Huntr/x dominated 2025 global music charts.
- Rosé's song with Bruno Mars, APT, exceeded two billion streams worldwide.
- This marks the first time a non-English lyric song topped the global chart.

In 2025, K-Pop artists achieved unprecedented global music success, with singer Rosé's collaboration with Bruno Mars, "APT," topping the year's worldwide chart.
"APT" garnered over two billion streams, marking a historic moment as the first song with non-English lyrics to lead the annual global rankings published by the IFPI. The track features spoken Korean at its opening and repeats the Korean word "아파트" in its chorus.
The animated girl group Huntr/x secured the second-highest hit with "Golden," from the Netflix series K-Pop Demon Hunters. This achievement is notable as it's the first time the IFPI chart has been topped by an artist outside of North America or Europe.
Other notable hits included US singer Alex Warren's "Ordinary" at third place and another collaboration featuring Bruno Mars, "Die With A Smile" with Lady Gaga, at fourth. Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things" rounded out the top five, also having been the number one song in 2024.
The charts indicate a trend of older songs performing strongly, with eight of the top 10 singles released prior to 2025. Notably, no British artists featured in the top 10 for the second consecutive year, though Lola Young's "Messy" reached 11th place with over one billion streams.
