Summary
- Season two of Jury Duty moved from courtroom to corporate retreat.
- It fools a new participant into thinking he's in a documentary.
- The production increased scale with more cameras and a larger site.

The critically acclaimed reality show "Jury Duty" returns with a second season, "Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat." This new installment ingeniously replicates the successful formula of its first season by convincing a new participant, 25-year-old Anthony Norman from Nashville, that he is starring in a documentary about a hot sauce company's annual retreat. Norman, a temp worker hired via Craigslist, is unaware that everyone around him, including his eccentric co-workers and a celebrity cameo, are actors.
The production has significantly escalated its ambitions for the second season. "Company Retreat" boasts a larger filming site, approximately 300,000 sq ft, with 48 concealed cameras. This increased scale and complexity aim to further immerse Norman in the elaborate hoax, all while the actors meticulously maintain their roles and backstory. The show's creators focused on building a unique narrative rather than merely matching the first season's success.
Director Jake Szymanski and executive producer David Bernad acknowledged the inherent risks and challenges in restaging the show's unique premise. They emphasize the extensive preparation, including months of writing, world-building, and rehearsals, to ensure the elaborate ruse remains convincing. The cast relied on improvisation and earpieces to guide Norman, who believed he was navigating a real company transition and retreat, making the production a high-wire act of planning and execution.
