For over 25 years, the Warner family has made Halloween a grand tradition, culminating this year in a spectacular Jurassic Park-themed home display in Granada Hills, California. Inspired by a child's fascination with a dinosaur costume, the family dedicated over 200 hours to constructing an immersive experience.
The centerpiece of the attraction is a 13-foot-tall replica of the Jurassic Park gates, complete with working fake-flame effects, serving as the entrance to their home and a popular photo spot. This impressive structure is taller than their actual house.
Visitors are also treated to a recreated electric fence and a captivating 3-4 minute projection show. This show vividly brings the iconic T-Rex paddock scene to life using movie-inspired audio, cinematic visuals, lighting, fog, and special effects, offering a heart-pounding encounter.
The family has invested approximately $4,000 into this project, utilizing new tools like a 3D printer while also repurposing materials from previous displays. The attraction is listed on the SoCal Haunt List and draws enthusiastic crowds from across Southern California.
Beyond the visual spectacle, the project offers a valuable opportunity for the family to bond and for the children to learn practical skills from their grandfathers, such as assembly and painting. The Warner home is recognized in their neighborhood as "The Halloween House."
