Peña Joins Amazon's 'Throttled' Romance

Julio Peña is set to star as Santi Alatorre in Amazon MGM Studios' upcoming film, "Throttled." This romantic drama is an adaptation of Lauren Asher's "Dirty Air" book series.

Peña will join previously announced cast members Nicole Wallace and Josh Heuston. The story follows a forbidden romance between Heuston's character, Noah Slade, and Wallace's character, Maya Alatorre. Peña will portray Santi Alatorre, Maya's older brother and a professional race car driver.

Melissa Osborne has adapted the script, with Nzingha Stewart directing. The film is produced by Brownstone Productions and Ethea Entertainment. "Throttled" is the first book in Asher's four-part "Dirty Air" series, and its adaptation further expands Amazon MGM's collection of book-to-screen projects.
