- She claims the arrest was for trying to go dancing at a club.

Juliette Lewis is ingeniously repurposing her 1989 mugshot, taken when she was 16, into a fashion statement to fund her music career. The actress recently partnered with apparel company Wildfang for a limited-edition collection, featuring a white T-shirt prominently displaying her youthful mugshot.
Appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, Lewis shared the context behind the arrest. She explained that she was attempting to go dancing at a club that lacked a liquor license when police raided the establishment. Despite being old enough to pay taxes and live independently at the time, Lewis was detained.
She recounted arguing with the officer about the disparity, stating, "You mean, I can pay taxes but I can't go dancing?" The officer eventually gave her a copy of the mugshot, which her father later enlarged. Lewis then began creating T-shirts from the image to support her rock and roll endeavors, including her band Juliette and the Licks and her solo work.
