Julia Fox Declines RHONY Offer, Wants to Preserve the Show She Loves

In a recent interview, actress Julia Fox disclosed that she was approached about joining the cast of the Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) reboot. While she did consider the opportunity, Fox ultimately decided against it, citing her deep love for the show and a desire to preserve its unique appeal.

Fox explained that as much as she was tempted, she knew that being part of the cast would likely "ruin it" for her as a devoted fan. The 35-year-old actress emphasized that she wants the Housewives to be "delusional, detached from reality and completely unrelatable." She believes that even if she had a friend or two on the show, it would feel too close to home and diminish the escapism she enjoys from the franchise.

The original RHONY series, which ran for 13 seasons until 2021, featured a cast that included Bethenny Frankel, Luann de Lesseps, and Ramona Singer. Fox admitted that the Housewives she grew up watching hold a level of importance akin to her own mother, underscoring her deep attachment to the show.

While Fox has been approached for various reality TV opportunities, she remains protective of her private life and is unsure if she is "there yet" to fully embrace that level of exposure. The actress suggested that if she were to consider any reality series, it would likely be more in the documentary realm, where she could maintain a greater sense of control over her narrative.
