Josh Duhamel recently shared details about his wife Audra Mari's challenging childbirth experience with their second child, daughter Rocca de Leon Duhamel. Mari was diagnosed with placenta previa, a serious pregnancy complication where the placenta partially or completely covers the cervix, posing a risk of severe bleeding. This condition necessitated a scheduled Cesarean section.
However, Mari experienced a pre-labor emergency on May 15, four days before the planned C-section. She woke Duhamel after having a dream, prompting a rushed trip to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota. The baby was delivered successfully just two hours later.
Duhamel, who has a third child and first daughter with Mari, also discussed their daughter's name, Rocca. He explained the name was inspired by his art history minor, referencing the Rococo and Baroque periods. Their son Shepherd, two, is adjusting to his new sister, though Duhamel humorously noted accidental kicks to the head.
