Actor Josh Duhamel detailed his extensive 15-year project of developing a remote cabin property in Minnesota, which he now considers a passion.
He acquired nearly 50 acres, starting with a small parcel and a dilapidated shack lacking electricity or running water, which he purchased for a minimal cost compared to Southern California real estate.
Duhamel meticulously worked on the land, building wells and implementing solar panels to create an entirely off-grid living situation for the cabins.
He described the initial years as akin to homesteading, washing dishes in the lake, but found immense satisfaction in the process and the resulting freedom.
While he primarily resides in Fargo, North Dakota, Duhamel frequently retreats to his Minnesota sanctuary, which also serves as a balanced environment for his children.
The actor also humorously recounted acquiring a vintage Chriscraft motor yacht for his property, which initially seemed free but became a costly restoration project.
