Brolin portrays Dan Killian, the manipulative mastermind behind a deadly survival reality show, who faces off against the protagonist, played by Glen Powell.
Brolin explains that Killian is the "puppet master" who runs the show, manipulating situations to get the best ratings. He was drawn to the role not only because of Wright's involvement as the director, but also because of the talented ensemble cast, including Powell and Colman Domingo, whom Brolin had admired in their previous work.
