Chanel recently hosted a private screening of "Coutures," a drama directed by Alice Winocour, featuring Angelina Jolie in a pivotal role. The film centers on a director grappling with a difficult divorce and a cancer diagnosis, all while immersed in the demanding world of filmmaking abroad.
Set against the backdrop of Paris Fashion Week, "Coutures" holds the distinction of being the first fiction film to be granted access for shooting within Chanel's prestigious tailoring workshops and haute couture salons. This unique access allowed for an authentic depiction of the fashion house's inner workings.
The narrative weaves together the lives of three women: Maxine, the American director played by Jolie; Ada, a model from South Sudan; and Angèle, a makeup artist. "Coutures" is slated for a February 2026 release, following its debut at the Toronto Film Festival.
