Johnny Depp takes on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge in Ti West's upcoming film adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novella, "A Christmas Carol." The just-released trailer showcases Depp's immersion into the character's unsavory nature as he embarks on a supernatural journey of redemption.
Directed by Ti West, the film aims for faithfulness to the source material while incorporating stylistic elements and a unique perspective. "Ebenezer" also features a notable cast, including Ian McKellen as Jacob Marley, Tramell Tillman as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Rupert Grint as Bob Cratchit.
The movie is slated for a theatrical release on November 13, 2026. This marks Depp's first film with a major American studio since the conclusion of his legal proceedings in 2022.
In addition to "Ebenezer," Depp is also slated to appear in the thriller "Day Drinker" next year, co-starring Madelyn Cline and Penélope Cruz. This project was among the first studio films Depp worked on following a period of limited big-screen opportunities.
