Depp will portray Ebenezer Scrooge in the film, a role he has long been fascinated by. The movie is an adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novella.
"Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol" is scheduled for release on November 13. This marks Depp's first venture into major Hollywood studio productions since "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" in 2018. He had previously taken on roles outside the mainstream, including the French film "Jeanne du Barry."
