On Thursday night, singer-songwriter John R. Miller shared the Grand Ole Opry stage with J Mascis, frontman of Dinosaur Jr. The pair delivered a guitar-heavy rendition of 'Steering Wheel Drums' from Miller's recent album.
Mascis, who has significantly influenced artists in the Americana sphere, made his first appearance at the iconic country music venue. Miller expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to perform with his guitar hero on such a revered stage.
After their Opry performance, Miller and Mascis extended their musical collaboration with an unannounced set at Vinyl Tap, a bar and record shop in East Nashville.
Awarded the John Prine Fellowship, Miller is currently touring and is scheduled to perform at AmericanaFest 2026 in Nashville.
