British Actor John Hannah to Lead New U.K. Detective Drama 'Death in Benidorm'

In a major casting announcement, British actor John Hannah has been selected to lead a new U.K. detective drama series titled "Death in Benidorm" for Paramount's Channel 5 and ZDF Studios. This comes less than a month after Hannah won his first Emmy Award for his performance in "Adolescence."

Elsewhere, music icon Bruce Springsteen has heaped high praise on actor Stephen Graham's portrayal of his father in the Searchlight biopic. Springsteen claimed that Graham "really embodied the physicality and emotional complexity" of his troubled, alcoholic, and mentally ill father, with whom he had a deeply complicated relationship. The Boss noted that towards the end of the film, viewers get a sense of his father's "invulnerability and sweetness."

Additionally, Jeremy Allen White, who stars alongside Graham in the film, revealed that Springsteen gifted him a rare 1955 Gibson J200 guitar to use during his preparation for the role. "That became the guitar in the film," White said, admitting he had mistakenly thought he'd need a jump rope to maintain his stamina, only to find that "Bruce-level energy comes naturally" when performing the music.
