A spectacular all-star concert, "The Songs Of John Farnham: A Living Legend The Celebration," is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena. This event will not only pay tribute to John Farnham's legendary music catalog but also raise vital funds for Head and Neck Cancer Australia, a cause close to the singer's heart.
The concert boasts an impressive lineup of 120 artists and musicians, including global stars like Keith Urban, Tina Arena, Jimmy Barnes, and Richard Marx, with special appearances from Celine Dion and Hugh Jackman via satellite. Farnham's longtime musical director, Chong Lim, will lead a 38-piece orchestra and choir, promising a powerful musical experience.
Farnham, who has a profound connection with Rod Laver Arena, having performed there 94 times to over a million fans, expressed his gratitude. His 1986 album, "Whispering Jack," achieved record-breaking success, selling over one million copies and remaining Australia's highest-selling domestic LP. The legendary singer, inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, also recently battled cancer himself, having undergone surgery in August 2022.
Tickets for this unique tribute go on sale Tuesday, June 2, at 10 AM AEST via Ticketek. The concert is produced by Cochrane Entertainment Collective and TEG Dainty, promising a memorable night celebrating an iconic Australian artist.
