27 Oct
Summary
- John Cena makes his first RAW appearance since last year's retirement.
- Cena's return was announced via a vignette on October 26th.
- His return could promote the upcoming John Cena Classic tournament.
WWE icon John Cena is slated to make his return to Monday Night RAW, appearing on the show for the first time since his in-ring retirement approximately one year ago. The surprise announcement occurred during the October 26 episode of RAW, where a vignette revealed Cena's upcoming appearance in Brooklyn, New York.
Speculation is rife regarding the purpose of Cena's return. One strong possibility is the promotion of the "John Cena Classic," a unique tournament format he previously mentioned would begin in December. His return a week before WWE Crown Jewel 2026 also hints at potential involvement in that major event.
Cena's last match on RAW took place on the November 17 episode of the previous year. He was also the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion at the time, a title he would later lose to Dominik Mysterio. His most recent WWE television appearance was at WWE Backlash 2026, where he announced the "John Cena Classic."
