Joel Edgerton, the 52-year-old actor, recently shared a nostalgic and somewhat embarrassing childhood memory. While visiting Entertainment Weekly's studio at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, he revealed that as a kid, he had posters of Hollywood legends James Dean and Marilyn Monroe. This admission came with a surprising confession: Edgerton had not actually seen any films starring Dean or Monroe during his youth, despite their iconic status.

Edgerton clarified that his bedroom walls were not solely adorned with posters of un-watched movies. He also displayed posters for films he genuinely enjoyed and had seen, such as the 1987 vampire classic 'The Lost Boys' and 'Goonies.' Meanwhile, his 'Dark Matter' co-star Jennifer Connelly mentioned her own childhood obsessions, noting a particular admiration for daredevil Evel Knievel, though she did not have any posters of him.
