Joe Perry Skips Hollywood Vampires Film Premiere for Aerosmith
23 Oct
Summary
- Joe Perry won't attend Hollywood Vampires film premiere in Newport Beach.
- He is prioritizing Aerosmith rehearsals for upcoming Hollywood Bowl shows.
- The band is also fresh off a European tour and new live album.

Joe Perry will not be present at the sold-out West Coast premiere of the Hollywood Vampires documentary, "Unleashed Spirits: The Rise of the Hollywood Vampires," scheduled for tonight at the Newport Beach Film Festival. Perry, a co-founder of the Hollywood Vampires and guitarist for Aerosmith, shared on social media that crucial rehearsals for Aerosmith's upcoming Hollywood Bowl performances prevent his attendance.
The Aerosmith guitarist's absence is a disappointment for fans who saw him at the film's world premiere in Boston on September 18. Perry has been exceptionally busy, recently completing a two-month European tour with the Hollywood Vampires and releasing a live album. Concurrently, Aerosmith announced their return for two shows at the Hollywood Bowl on October 29 and November 1.
These Halloween-ending performances will feature notable guest artists such as Slash and Duff McKagan from Guns N' Roses, the living members of Run DMC, Billy Idol, and others. This marks a significant return for Aerosmith, who last performed together three years prior. The original Hollywood Vampires, formed in the 1970s, evolved into its current iteration in 2012 with Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Johnny Depp.
