Joe Budden Launches True-Crime Podcast Series

Joe Budden, a prominent podcaster and cultural commentator, is expanding into true-crime storytelling with the launch of his new weekly video podcast, 'Crime in America.' The series is set to premiere on Tuesday, Aug. 11, and will be available on all major podcast platforms.

This new venture is the first from Prime Crime Productions, a company co-founded by Budden and his business partner Ian Schwartzman. They have partnered with Wolf Entertainment, known for its 'Law & Order' and 'One Chicago' franchises, and Advance Local, along with its Headline Studio.

'Crime in America' aims to pair Budden's personal fascination with true crime with Wolf Entertainment's established expertise and Advance Local's extensive network of journalists. Each episode will focus on cases that are currently developing or gaining national attention, allowing for week-to-week follow-ups and evolving narratives.

Budden expressed pride in the decision to finance and build the series independently, emphasizing the shared vision with Wolf Entertainment and Headline Studio for innovative storytelling and audience engagement. Elliot Wolf of Wolf Entertainment highlighted the role of local journalists in breaking significant true-crime stories and the series' goal of providing them a national platform. Richard Diamond of Headline Studio underscored the unique combination of national reach and local reporting, emphasizing the importance of journalism in understanding community issues.
