The tumor, described as blueberry-sized and located in his left frontal lobe, was diagnosed in July after an MRI. Doctors identified it as a potential astrocytoma. Amabile underwent surgery earlier this month, and is currently taking a daily pill designed to minimize the risk of recurrence with minimal side effects, according to his physician.
He noted that speech difficulties were anticipated post-surgery, as he experienced trouble vocalizing thoughts immediately after the procedure. However, Amabile has also celebrated milestones in his recovery, successfully completing a run just 15 days after his surgery. He and his wife, Serena Pitt, emphasize the importance of sharing his health journey publicly.
