This period drama follows a 15-year-old survivor's journey of self-determination. The film was lauded for its engaging narrative and striking cinematography, also winning the award for best cinematography. Swiss actress Lila Gueneau received a special mention for her performance.
Other award highlights included 'Variations on a Theme' by South African directors Jason Jacobs and Devon Delmar, which won best African feature. Nolitha Refilwe Mkulisi's 'Let Them Be Seen' secured the best documentary award. The festival concluded with the premiere of 'The Trek.'
