Metro Detroit is currently experiencing a vibrant transformation into an open-air art museum, featuring the dynamic works of French pop-street artist Jisbar. This unique exhibition, presented by International Outdoor, includes more than 57 billboards and digital panels, with installations visible throughout Metro Detroit's three counties and extending as far west as Fowlerville. The project will remain on display through mid-June.
International Outdoor COO Mansour Oram, an admirer of Jisbar's art, curated the project. Jisbar's creations are known for their playful blend of pop culture icons, art history, and motivational quotes. His work has gained international recognition, including a piece sent to outer space in 2019.
Jisbar selected works specifically for Metro Detroit, incorporating elements relevant to the city, such as cars, alongside American pop culture motifs and favorite films. The artist plans to visit Metro Detroit from May 4-6 to connect with the community and sign pieces, aiming to inspire curiosity and positivity through his unexpected billboard art.
This initiative marks the third such artistic display by International Outdoor, following previous collaborations with artists Kai and Zach Thompson. The company intends to continue this tradition, viewing it as a way to support the arts and enrich the community's visual landscape.
