The beloved viral raccoon, affectionately known as Jimothy, will be celebrated by his hometown baseball team, the Seattle Mariners. The team announced a special Jimothy Night for their game against the Detroit Tigers on August 5th at T-Mobile Park.
During this event, the first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive a complimentary Jimothy rookie card. Various limited edition cards, including gold and silver variations, will be randomly distributed. For superfans, a special Jimothy Night ticket package includes an exclusive t-shirt featuring the raccoon, with $2 from each purchase donated to the Ballard Food Bank.
This isn't the only baseball team honoring the internet-famous raccoon. The Rocket City Trash Pandas, an affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, will also host their own Jimothy Night on August 4th. Festivities are expected to include a raccoon costume parade and specialty food items.
Jimothy gained widespread internet fame this summer after a video of the raccoon, who has a notable spinal deformity, was posted online. His unique hunched posture and endearing presence have captured the hearts of many, leading to his recognition by local sports teams.
