Country Star Recalls Buffett's Wild Plane Entrance

Country artist Jake Owen recently shared poignant memories of the late Jimmy Buffett, remembering the Parrothead icon's flair for dramatic entrances. Owen recounted how Buffett once piloted his own plane to Vero Beach, Florida, arriving in characteristic flip-flops and a Hawaiian shirt to perform at Owen's charity event. This gesture of support was reciprocated when Buffett played at Owen's foundation fundraiser in 2019.

Following Buffett's death in 2023, Owen was invited to perform at the celebration of life concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It was during this event that Owen and Shooter Jennings, who produced Owen's latest album, formed a closer bond. Owen described the closing all-star jam as a surreal experience, sharing the stage with musical giants like Joe Walsh and Paul McCartney, with Snoop Dogg also present.
