Jim Cummings, an American actor, has lent his voice to Winnie the Pooh for nearly 40 years, becoming synonymous with the beloved character. His voice work extends to Tigger since 1989 and the Tasmanian Devil since 1991, appearing in numerous Disney productions and other animated classics.
Cummings' journey into voice acting began in 1984 after various jobs. He took over the role of Winnie the Pooh in 1988 from Sterling Holloway. This month, he is scheduled to visit the UK to commemorate the 100th anniversary of A.A. Milne's original Winnie the Pooh book.
The centenary is being marked with special merchandise and collaborations, including with brands like Lego. Meanwhile, the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, the inspiration for the Hundred Acre Wood, is also planning anniversary events.
