Jilted Lovers Crash Destination Wedding in Hilarious Romcom

On October 2nd, 2025, a thoroughly enjoyable romantic comedy with social overtones is set to hit theaters. Titled "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari," the film stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf in the lead roles.

The story follows Sunny Sanskari, a young man from a prosperous jeweler's family, who is "dumped" by his long-time girlfriend Ananya (Sanya Malhotra) in favor of tycoon Vikram (Rohit Saraf). At the same time, Vikram is also not marrying his own girlfriend, schoolteacher Tulsi Kumari (Janhvi Kapoor), much to her heartbreak. When Sunny learns of Tulsi's situation, he decides they must team up to "break" Vikram and Ananya's destination wedding.

Enlisting the help of his friend Buntu, Sunny and Tulsi pretend to be a couple and infiltrate the pre-wedding festivities, much to the delight of the eccentric wedding planner, Kuku (Maniesh Paul). What follows is a whirlwind of a fun romp, with occasional flirtations with pathos and a quirky ending within the "wrong-man-wrong-girl" template.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan and co-written by Ishita Moitra, the film offers a light, sparkling narrative that cleverly references classic Hindi cinema. The natural elements brought into the script, such as Sunny's confrontation with Vikram's chauvinistic brother Param, and the incidental love triangle between Buntu, Kuku, and their common flame Nisha, add to the refreshing appeal of the story.
