Baby Reindeer Star Jessica Gunning: 'I'm Gay!'

Jessica Gunning, known for her role as Martha in Netflix's Baby Reindeer, has shared her personal journey of self-discovery. Gunning, who is now 40, came out as gay four years ago. She reflected on realizing her sexuality in 2022 after a conversation with a lesbian friend.

Gunning explained that she had never been in a relationship before coming out, stating she didn't feel compelled to date men. She suggested this lack of romantic experience was linked to her perceived 'otherness,' which she felt shielded her from acknowledging her lack of interest in men. While she has dated since Baby Reindeer's release, she is currently single.

The actress expressed that she is a firm believer in love but prefers traditional romance over dating apps. Gunning is set to appear as Dame Washalot in the upcoming film adaptation of Enid Blyton's classic, The Faraway Tree. The movie also features Nicola Coughlan, Claire Foy, and Andrew Garfield.
