Jesse Williams' Past Marriage Drama Resurfaces Amid New Rumors

Recent speculation surrounding Jesse Williams' potential marriage to actress Alejandra Onieva has brought his previous divorce from Aryn Drake-Lee back into public view. The couple, who married in 2012 after meeting in New York City, share two children, Sadie and Maceo. Williams filed for divorce in April 2017, initiating a period of intense legal disputes.

During the divorce proceedings, Williams accused Drake-Lee of preventing him from seeing their children, while her legal team stated she aimed to protect their privacy. Court documents from August 2017 indicated Drake-Lee alleged Williams was distant and introduced new partners, seeking sole custody. Williams had previously described Drake-Lee as a supportive partner through his career.

The divorce was finalized in October 2020, but the custody battle continued. Both parents were ordered to attend classes for high-conflict parents in March 2021. In February 2022, Williams accused Drake-Lee of violating court orders and exhibiting erratic behavior concerning his visitation.

Financial matters also became a point of contention. In July 2018, Williams was ordered to pay over $100,000 in monthly child and spousal support, which was later reduced to $40,000 per month in child support upon finalization of the divorce. By 2025, Williams was awarded sole custody of his children's healthcare, with an agreement to share physical custody on alternating weeks and inform Drake-Lee of all decisions.
