The 54-year-old actor, who revealed the passing of his father in July, posted the clip on Thursday, stating he had "absolutely nothing good to say" and felt "s**t" as Christmas approached. He later posted a follow-up video thanking fans for their overwhelming support, having received approximately 500 kind messages.

Edwards' public vulnerability resonated with his followers, who flooded the comments section with supportive messages. In his thank you video, he emphasized a message of solidarity, reminding others that "we are all going through it." This candid display comes after Edwards had previously expressed dissatisfaction with his return to Hollyoaks in 2020, which saw his character Kurt Benson seemingly brought back from the dead. He had described the storyline as a "s**t show" in 2021.

The actor had announced his departure from the soap in January 2021, citing online trolling and judgment as contributing factors. He detailed instances of receiving hateful messages online, including personal insults. Despite being open to future returns, Edwards ultimately declined further involvement, stating his intention to move on.
