In a recent appearance on the SmartLess podcast, Jennifer Lopez recounted a bizarre incident that occurred during her "Up All Night: Live in 2025" tour. Performing in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in August 2025, Lopez experienced a moment of unexpected terror when a large cricket landed on her neck while she was singing a Spanish ballad.
Lopez described the stage as quiet, with only a spotlight on her, when the audience began to scream. Initially mistaking their reaction for applause during a dramatic pause, she soon realized the cause of the commotion. The singer confessed to feeling the substantial insect crawling up her neck, causing her to freeze until she could complete the song's final line.
Reflecting on the encounter, Lopez humorously noted the bug's size, comparing it to a helicopter as it eventually flew towards the light. She admitted that knowing the nature of the visitor beforehand would have likely elicited a much more panicked response. The memorable, albeit unsettling, performance moment was captured on video and shared by fans.
