Today Show Host's April Fool's Prank Ends in Painful Fall

Jenna Bush Hager, a host on the Today show, recently suffered a painful fall live on air during an April Fool's Day prank. The incident occurred when Hager attempted to surprise co-host Willie Geist with a cake, which she then pretended to drop. However, while executing the prank, she slipped on the cake's icing and fell, landing heavily on her left knee.

Despite the dramatic tumble, Hager has since provided an update on her health, reassuring concerned viewers that she sustained no serious injuries and is not even bruised. She humorously noted that the fall was genuine and attributed the slippery conditions to the cake's icing. Geist confessed that he initially believed the fall was also part of the staged prank, and he did not immediately offer assistance.

This incident comes shortly before co-host Savannah Guthrie's planned return to the show on Monday, April 6. Guthrie has been off air since February 1 due to the ongoing search for her missing mother, Nancy. The show is reportedly planning to feature segments specifically around Guthrie upon her return.
