Jeff Tweedy Covers Twisted Teens' 'Wild Connection'

Jeff Tweedy, known as the frontman for Wilco, has recently released a cover of the track "Wild Connection." This song is originally by the New Orleans-based duo Twisted Teens and is featured on their February album, "Blame the Clown." Tweedy shared his rendition via his Substack, a personal online publishing platform.

In an accompanying essay, Tweedy expressed his admiration for Twisted Teens' bandleader, Caspian Hollywell, stating he found it difficult "not trying to sing like him." Tweedy explained his practice of covering songs as a way to "try on" sounds he admires. He reflected that on this particular cover, he felt he still sounded like himself, perhaps like a "younger version of myself."

This is not the first time Tweedy has utilized his Substack for cover songs. Earlier this year, he posted a rendition of "Love Takes Miles" by Cameron Winter as a Valentine's Day gesture for his wife. Tweedy's recent activities also include concluding a headlining tour for his album "Twilight Override," creating a New York Times crossword puzzle, and making two appearances on Kimmel.

Meanwhile, Twisted Teens are preparing for the release of their third album of 2026, titled "The Holy Cross Tigers," scheduled for November 6. This album will be their debut release on the Sub Pop label, following their July LP "Florida Water Blues."
