In a recent interview, acclaimed actor Jeff Goldblum, 73, revealed that he has gone vegetarian after playing the role of the Wizard of Oz in the upcoming film "Wicked: For Good." Goldblum, who is set to reprise the villainous character, shared that the movie's themes surrounding animal cruelty have had a profound impact on him.
"Working with Jon Chu [the director] is amazing. It's changed me. You know, after doing this movie, we talked about the animal cruelty, I stopped eating meat and poultry," Goldblum said. He added, "We need the world to work for everybody on Earth and every creature, too."
The first "Wicked" film earned 10 Academy Award nominations last year, winning two statues. Now, "Wicked: For Good" is expected to repeat that success, with potential Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress nods for stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, respectively. If both actresses are nominated, they would become the seventh and eighth performers in Oscar history to be recognized twice for the same role.
With Goldblum's powerful transformation and the highly anticipated sequel, "Wicked: For Good" is poised to be one of the most talked-about films of the year.
