Vicki Gunvalson, a fellow Real Housewives of Orange County cast member, has provided an update on Jeana Keough's ongoing battle with tongue cancer. Gunvalson stated on August 9 that Keough is currently receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Jeana Keough's daughter, Kara Keough, initially disclosed her mother's diagnosis in July. A painful spot on Keough's tongue, present for nearly a year, was eventually identified as squamous cell carcinoma. Following an initial surgery, doctors recommended a second procedure due to the cancer's spread.
Kara shared on August 6 that her mother had completed her final radiation treatment the previous day. She anticipates the upcoming two weeks to be the most physically challenging for Jeana as the chemo and radiation treatments intensify. The radiation burns have extended to her neck, causing significant pain.
Despite the excruciating pain, Keough is refusing narcotics. Her daughter is working to find effective nausea treatments to combat vomiting. However, Kara reported a positive development: Jeana has stabilized her weight through the use of a feeding tube, which is being celebrated as a victory.
