Summary
- JBL suggests Royal Rumble could follow WrestleMania's two-night format.
- He noted both men's and women's matches exceed one hour each.
- The Rumble kicks off the road to WrestleMania, JBL stated.

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield has proposed that the Royal Rumble event could benefit from adopting a two-night format, similar to WrestleMania and SummerSlam. Layfield explained on the Something To Wrestle With podcast that the considerable length of both the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches, each exceeding an hour, makes splitting them across two nights a sensible option.
He further highlighted the significance of the Royal Rumble events, noting their dual function as both culminating storylines and the traditional start of the road to WrestleMania. Layfield suggested that separating the Rumbles could allow each match to be better supported by additional bouts, enhancing the overall event. As of the current date, WWE has not officially announced any intentions to move the Royal Rumble to a two-night format.
