Jay Wheeler's track "De Lejitos" has ascended to the No. 1 position on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart, a significant achievement just five months after his previous overall Latin radio ranking success. The song earned 6.7 million audience impressions in the United States during the Aug. 14-20 tracking period.
"De Lejitos" has shown consistent performance, spending considerable time in the top 10 of the Hot Latin Songs chart and maintaining a strong presence on Latin Airplay. This No. 1 brings Wheeler's total to four chart-topping hits on the Latin Airplay list, following previous successes like "Viendo El Techo" and "Si Te Vas."
Elsewhere, Banda El Recodo de Cruz de Lizárraga secured its 21st No. 1 on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart with their rendition of Antonio Aguilar's 1958 hit, "La Cama de Piedra." This reworked version garnered 5.9 million impressions.
With this latest success, Banda El Recodo has achieved seven leaders in the current decade, surpassing its previous records. The group now shares the fourth-most No. 1s on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart with Intocable since its inception in 1994.
